The key to hair growth is having a healthy body, a healthy scalp, and having healthy ends. the key word here is healthy. Let's talk about the body, scalp, and ends!
Healthy Body:
The ultimate sign of health for a woman is long, luxurious, soft-looking hair and long nails. Our bodies give nourishment to our hair and nails last. The body doesn't consider it to be a vital organ, so the nutrients are provided there last. Due to this, it is a sign of health.
Be sure to eat a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals and be sure to supplement with quality vitamins when needed. Of course, get your exercise in 3 to 5x a week. See your General Dr for well visits and address health concerns. Take note that hair loss is a sign of concern for your health.
Healthy Scalp:
The scalp hosts the follicles our hair grows out of, so it is important to care for it properly. You can do that by washing your hair 2 - 3x a week. It's become popular to wait a week or more between washes. If hair growth has become a concern, you need to wash more often. Going too long between washes will leave excessive product build up on the scalp leaving it smothered and unable to breathe thus inhibiting hair growth.
If you use a dry shampoo in between washes please do a double shampoo cleanse massaging your scalp really well. The double cleanse will make it squeaky clean and the massage will promote blood flow and circulation to the follicle.
If you suffer from dry scalp try a hair oil meant for the scalp, follow directions on the bottle and massage it into the scalp to help it absorb. Clean, moisturized, and stimulated follicles will produce a promote healthy hair growth!
Last but not least add on a salon scalp treatment the next time you see your hair dresser. A healthy scalp is so important.
Healthy Ends:
Have you ever said"My hair just won't grow!" while sitting in the chair getting a root touch up? Well the fact that you need a touch up is proof that your hair does grow! It just may never reach past your shoulders due to it breaking off!
It's true that split ends = breakage. If it continues to break you'll never reach the desired length, you will continue to watch your hair split until it's cut off. So don't skip the trim at your next color appointment.
Split ends happen most often to dry hair so it's important to keep it conditioned with weekly deep conditioning at home. Use a leave in conditioner straight out of the shower. Style hair on low heat and use a light oil to seal the ends.
